The Role of the Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees is the governing body of Apex Care Foundation. It is responsible for:

• Setting the organisation’s long-term vision and strategic priorities

• Approving policies, annual budgets and programme direction

• Monitoring financial management and risk oversight

• Ensuring compliance with charity law and safeguarding obligations

• Holding the executive and delivery teams accountable to our mission and objectives

Trustees serve in a voluntary capacity and are selected based on their experience, values alignment and ability to support ethical governance.

Operational Leadership

While the Board governs the organisation, the day-to-day work is led by operational staff and advisors who oversee specific areas such as:

• Programme delivery

• Safeguarding and compliance

• Communications and engagement

• Volunteer coordination

• Finance and administration

These individuals bring sector expertise, lived experience and on-the-ground insight into the challenges facing our beneficiaries and partners.
